Things I should Tell You

There are some many things

I should tell you

Because silence

Invades like a militant

Armed, licking life-blood

From its razor-teeth.

Sometimes,

In the blunder-busy life,

We rush by these few words,

These things I should tell you

All melt into one thing–

I chose you, this life.

Maybe, you see through tunnel-vision eyes

Pain and anger, but look deeper

Underneath…there

Love pushes out

Because I chose you: this life, my happiness.

Thunder Storms

Mud brown water

Pools in between Johnson grass

And gravel drive.

Reaching up toward the rain,

Trees extend leaf and limb higher

Moving together with the bass beat

Of the thunder.

Next, the treble voice

Staccatoes out the higher pitches

As each white orb

Plinks upon the soggy earth.

Swishing to the counterpoint beats,

Trees bend down offer their hands

Beckoning me to dance.

Saturday Evening Post–April

Hello, Saturday. Such a pleasure if I weren’t suffering from allergies. But I shan’t let this bit of irksomeness weigh down my spirits.

Today, my blog friend, Elizabeth Esther, is hosting THE SATURDAY EVENING POST. We link up our favorite post from the previous month, and we get to make new blog friends, learn about various ideas, catch up on the good posts we missed.

For my selection, I chose my poem WRONG. It represents how I feel in the church as a woman and the new direction my blog has taken. Without further ado, why don’t you check out my submission, then head over and link up or read some of the other great writers?

And, if you want to really make my Saturday awesome, subscribe to this lovely blog(yes, I’m partial).
